Plastic and cosmetic surgeon Abdul Shararah, MD, is the CEO and president of Advanced Hand & Reconstructive Plastic Surgery Inc. in Northridge, California.
Dr. Shararah earned his bachelor’s degree in pharmaceutical sciences at King Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and his Doctor of Pharmacy from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. He then graduated from the University of Calgary (UCalgary) in Canada with his Doctor of Medicine and pursued additional graduate studies in neuroscience, specifically peripheral nerve repair and regeneration, at UCalgary.
Afterward, Dr. Shararah completed his plastic surgery residency at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, before completing a fellowship in hand and microsurgery surgery at Toronto Western Hospital, affiliated with the University of Toronto. Dr. Shararah pursued additional training in microsurgery as well as pediatric hand and upper extremity surgery, and he attended the University of Southern California, San Diego for a peripheral nerve and brachial plexus surgery fellowship.
In addition to being a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and American Medical Association, he is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the European Board of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery. Dr. Shararah is certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and Basic Life Support. He is licensed to practice medicine in California and Texas.
Prior to Advanced Hand & Reconstructive Plastic Surgery, Inc., Dr. Shararah has worked at various facilities in California and led workshops educating other professionals in his field. He is currently also an attending plastic, hand, and reconstructive surgeon at Concentra Medical Center in Burbank, California.
